Position Summary: 

The Sales Area Supervisor executes merchandising and operational functions on the sales floor and oversees point-of-sale operations.  The Operations Area Supervisor oversees the unload, processing and stocking of all incoming freight to the sales floor and preparing all merchandise to be floor-ready, as well as maintaining the receiving and stock areas to Store standards. 

Primary Duties:

Customer Service:

  • Effectively responds to questions and requests from Customers
  • Responds to POS back up calls and assists at POS as needed

Training and Supervision:

  • Effectively uses Store tools to plan, communicate and share information with Associates
  • Assigns tasks and directs workflow to Sales Floor Associates
  • Conducts orientation and trains Sales Floor/Operations Associates on sales floor operations and best practices
  • Leads team by example in demonstrating and assisting with department and fitting room merchandise recovery
  • Offers suggestions for improvement to Store Management

Operations:

  • Assists with replenishing merchandise to the sales floor to ensure selling floor is maximized at all times to Store merchandise presentation standards
  • Completes price changes, call backs and transfers as directed
  • Ensures merchandise is properly prepped for the sales floor per Store best practices, including sorting, hanging and tagging
  • Ensures the sales floor is customer-ready, free of equipment and floor fixtures are spaced correctly
  • Follows Store best practices and participates in Store programs (i.e. unsellable merchandise)
  • Assists with opening and/or closing store procedures as a Store key holder

 Communication

  • Communicates policies and procedures to Sales Floor and Operations Associates
  • Provides feedback to management on Sales Floor and Operations Associate work performance as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in sales or other work environment working with the public
  • Prior experience in merchandise receiving, handling and stocking in other retail or warehouse/distribution environment
  • Prior supervisory experience in one of the above environments

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing or moving about the sales floor.  Physical activity includes bending, stopping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
  • Adherence to Store policy and procedures is required
  • Regular attendance is required

Addendums

Sales Area Supervisor:

  • Oversees daily functions of the point of sale and Cash Office (i.e. register and cash balancing, change orders, supplies, over/short research)
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of registers
  • Maintains fitting rooms, sales floor and work areas according to best practices
  • Maintains sales floor signing to current pricing strategy

 Operations Area Supervisor

  • Leads Store freight team to ensure best practices are executed and sales floor is maximized
  • Utilizes and adheres to operations best practices when unloading merchandise, fixtures and supplies and placing them appropriately to the sales floor or stockroom
  • Maintains stockroom per capacity and organizational guidelines per Store best practices
  • Checks and reports  seal discrepancies and misdirected shipments
  • Collects trash, sorts hangers and performs other stockroom and fixture maintenance as needed
  • Ensures all unload and freight processing equipment is staged and ready for use prior to all shifts
  • Inspects all equipment to ensure it is safe and in working order and reports if replacements are needed
