1st shift Machinist Helper Needed - Full-time

A client of Staffmark is looking for machinist helper candidates.
1st shift is Monday - Friday (6am-2pm), pay is $11.45 an hour.
These are temp to hire positions for the right candidates.

POSITION SUMMARY
Assist machinists in an effort to increase productivity. Maintain order in plant area, as an instrumental part of the 5S program.

Move chip buggies from primary machines when full and dump them into the proper chip disposal system.

Maintain the flow of chips into the spinner/chip system which involves using a ladder.


Check chips for short bar ends or parts that may have fallen into the chips so they do not get into the shredder and damage it.

Assist machine operators with loading bar stock into machines.


Pack finished parts into proper dunnage according to work instructions.

Fill up oil buckets and deliver oil to the machines.


Know and obey all safety rules and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.


Sweep and mop areas as assigned by Shift Supervisor and Management.

Run a floor scrubber.

Responsible for keeping and sustaining a clean, orderly, and safe work area per the 5S guidelines.


Perform any other assigned tasks for the safe and effective operation of the facility.




SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education : High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience : One to two years related experience
