The Population Health Solution Designer, is responsible for all aspects of Subject Matter Expert-level consulting (sales engineering) for our consumer Health Ownership services and product lines with our top-tier and strategic clients and prospects. The right candidate has the right passionate mix of Population Health strategy, program design, digital engagement (and all other engagement methods), and client-facing success. Candidates will establish deep product/subject matter expertise on select products within the population health portfolio while representing the full product value story.


                                                                                                                                                                                              
Primary Responsibilities:



  • Client Solution Design with a primary focus on wellness solutions that support a client's population health strategy

  • Serve as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) to internal and external clients on our capabilities, product options and integrated services

  • Serve as a Population Health thought-leader in client-facing opportunities, representing the broader-view of the Optum value story

  • Be identified in the organization as the sought-after expert in your solutions' strategies and best practices

  • Develop innovative approaches to solving complex and unique client needs

  • Serve as a leader and mentor to others

  • Anticipates internal and external client needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them

  • Cross-training with peer SME's and their products' capabilities

  • Provides as-needed field training of product and strategy, with  guidance during the solution design and proposal writing, including, navigation assistance to tools and resources

  • Pre-sales solution design, finalist presentation and follow-up

  • Pre-sale documentation of solution design (products used, intended configuration)

  • Proposal Support – Responding to unique RFP questions in partnership with proposal team, maintaining RFP boilerplate responses based on new data or enhancements in partnership with product managers, marketing and proposal content managers

  • Use of best-practice and available design options, as well as participation in ongoing refinement of best practices

  • Creative design collaboration on client needs within available capabilities

  • Consulting tool strategy, creation and maintenance (Deep-dive FAQ's, illustrations, samples and other materials needed to assist in communicating solution and capability details – sales writing and slide building skills required)

  • Use and tailoring of standard marketing tools  for client-specific discussions

  • Assistance with sales and account team training and navigation to requested information or process steps

  • Maintain clear understanding of competitive intelligence, news, and reading recommendations for market developments

  • Maintain complete client solution design documentation

  • Capture market demand details for product enhancement requests from clients

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Communications, Technology, Public Health, Wellness/Fitness or a related field

  • 5+ years of consumer or B2B marketing experience

  • 3+ years healthcare industry experience

  • 5+ years of client-facing/consulting experience

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications(min of 5 years exp)

  • Experience creating and conducting presentations to a large group and to C-suite via phone, virtual meeting (WebEx) and in-person

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others

  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization

  • Must be able to provide writing samples upon request

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced Degree

  • Proposal Writing experience

  • Supervisory Experience

  • Population Health program experience (wellness programs)
