Overview:
The Loss Prevention Specialist's primarily responsible is to assist in the protection of our company assets, and providing a high level of customer service. These include, but are not limited to, our employees, customers, property, merchandise, and money. The LP Specialist prevents unauthorized removal of merchandise through the perimeter exits. Additionally they must ensure that policies and procedures of the company are adhered to. As needed the LP Specialist will receive guidance and training from both the Manager of the Uniform Guard Personnel and the Guard Supervisor. Where applicable, the LP Specialist must complete all requirements of the NYS Guard Act Certification and training.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Assist in customer traffic flow when assigned to an event
  • Deliver outstanding customer service during events, knowledgeable about store and services throughout the building
  • Prepare proper documentation for incidents that occur throughout the building
  • Testify in court proceedings as a representative of Bloomingdale's.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Create a strong deterrent presence and ability to identify internal and external theft.
  • Check the outside areas beyond the doors, for the presence of non-personnel and suspicious activity
  • When requested the LP Specialist will assist the detectives with an apprehension.
  • Perform daily Sensormatic system check and report any problems to the Security Supervisor.

  • Required to successfully complete the LP Specialist training program
  • Flexible schedule, nights and weekends required
