Position Overview
Payroll/Receptionist should have at least 1 year previous construction payroll experience and Administrative Assistant experience; able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Site (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); knowledge of StarBuilder or About Time a plus; strong communication and organizational skills, and ability to interact effectively with office managers and field employees/superintendents; Spanish and English speaking would be a plus; ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision; must be dependable, detail-oriented, and strictly confidential. Individual must be able to multi-task in a fast paced, team focused, work environment.
Primary Function:
Administer and coordinate most functions of Payroll workflow, payroll-related data entry, new hire set-up, terminations and administrative support. Perform a variety of Payroll functions, projects, administrative, and receptionist duties for office managers.
Duties
Maintain the confidentiality of payroll records and information including employee personal information when performing the following duties:
* Coordinate, maintain, and generate payroll-related files, and records (personnel files, payroll wage data).
* Process documents such as new hire documents; termination requests, payroll change requests, etc.
* Accurately track and process documents; follow-up as needed.
* Input payroll information accurately into the StarBuilder and About Time Systems as applicable.
* Work with Assistant Operations Manager on field requests that are payroll related such as receipt reimbursement, pay rate increases, etc.
* Answer phone and respond to inquiries; direct calls to appropriate individuals; take and relay messages; maintain communication between field employees and superintendents and office personnel.
* Perform routine clerical/receptionists functions such as typing, filing, photocopying, scanning, greeting visitors, making binders, etc.
* Perform other duties or special requests as required or assigned.
Requirements
* Previous construction payroll experience preferred.
* Valid state Driver's License and Social Security Card required.
* Able to handle multiple tasks at once and accomplish all in a timely manner
* Business like phone answering skills
* Warm, friendly, business-like disposition/appearance for front office
Other Skills/Abilities
* Proficient computer knowledge including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Quick learning ability
* Problem solving skills
* Must have organizational skills
* Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
