Are you a subject matter expert in Deployment Management, specializing in release planning, risk identification, mitigation and release delivery?   The Software Deployment Manager will manage deployments for various applications within Clinical Systems Delivery, maintaining release scope definition, risk management and deployment planning activities.  The role includes assisting with strategic initiatives across various business, IT teams and operating groups. You'll investigate non-standard requests and issues related to the release methodology and escalating release issues to the Release Manager and Senior Leadership.  Ensure release and deployment documentation meets United Development Process (UDP) and GCC compliance standards.  Monitor all projects prioritized for release delivery can be delivered on time following the SDLC application lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of releases across various functional areas

  • Ensure that the architecture and infrastructure on which the application will be deployed are robust and stable

  • Coordinate deployment planning meetings to document clear/concise steps for implementing code to production environments:

    • Determine pre-deployment tasks for each application

    • Determine deployment date, start and end times

    • Identify resource(s)  required to complete task

    • Estimate task duration for each step within the deployment readiness checklist

  • Partner with release manager for decisions impacting the release

  • Lead and coordinate pre-deployment readiness reviews and the execution of of the deployment

  • Create and maintain a release and deployment repository to include a deployment readiness checklist, deployment plan and back out plan prior to release

  • Identify cross-application dependencies and coordinate release activities including cross-application support to assist as required

  • Subject Matter Expert of HPSM  for creating and managing change tasks, Services and Modified CIs related to Change tickets.  Knowledge of Incident and Problem Tickets

  • Knowledge of Emergency Change Advisory Board (ECAB) process and war room initiation

  • Work with release engineers to identify code packages, versions and scripts required for deployment Identify and manage release risks that impacts release scope, schedule and quality and resolves issues/risks through a mitigation plan Knowledge of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Nights and weekends may be required

  • Knowledge of agile development

  • Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed

  • Works with less structured, more complex issues

  • Serves as a resource to others

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years or release management and/or deployment experience optional

  • 2+ years of project management Technical Leadership and the ability to work with project teams and other infrastructure teams

  • Knowledge of database attributes, including SQL and Oracle script execution

  • Knowledge of HP Application Lifecycle Management

  • ITIL Certification/familiarity with framework

  • 1+ years of SDLC experience

  • Lead and manage implementation conference calls to diagnosing technical issues  as required

  • Experience in fast-paced work environment
