Key responsibilities include:
* Developing standards for organization and supervision of dietary services
* Determining quality and quantity of food required and planning menus and controlling food costs
* Working closely with divisional dietary services specialist and consulting dietitian when necessary to ensure meals meet the nutritional requirements of the residents
* Overseeing the food preparation and cooking to ensure meals are prepared per Brookdale procedures
* Making frequent inspections of all work, storage, and serving areas to determine that regulations governing food safety and sanitation are followed
* Preparing cleaning schedule, production worksheet, and staff schedules

We seek the following qualifications:
* Current Food Manager Certification highly preferred
* 1 year of supervisory dietary experience, commercial kitchen, operation and line cooking; experience in skilled nursing unit preferred
* Flexibility with schedule
* Possess basic computer skills and knowledge of word processing software
* Ability to develop and direct cost control system; prepare, submit department budget to management and supervide dietary staff
* Must enjoy working with the senior population
