Experis IT is actively seeking a polished, professional Active Directory System Administrator to join a strong team in Woodbridge VA supporting the DoD and NATO on highly visible IT services effort for our client.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008R2 and VMware infrastructure. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows workstations and servers, install new software releases; perform system upgrades; evaluate and install patches; resolve software related problems; monitor system performance; tune systems to achieve optimum levels of performance and perform backup and recoveries using backup tapes. You will also serve as one of the technical persons in the organization of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes. Must be able to plan, manage and execute and lead subordinate level positions.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide planning, installing, configuring and upgrading support for vCenter Server and VMware ESXi.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems, to include Operating System (OS), application software patches and service packs; perform Tier 2 user account, group, and home directory maintenance for workstations and servers.
Configure and install hardware and software in a multiple remote office Enterprise System.
Provide day-to-day support of the customers enterprise System.
Audit existing infrastructure and software to ensure proper setup, application of patches and policy compliance.
Support the customers applications in the production and test environment.
Continually learn, actively share knowledge and foster exchange of skills.
Work with the SOC to provide timely ticket resolutions on issues affecting existing Production systems in order to maintain service level agreements.
Flexibility in work schedule, off-hours for project implementation and 7x24x365 on-call support, some travel may be required.

Job Specifications:

Experience in writing test plans, developing test strategies, implementing test strategies, stress testing, performance testing (stress, load, volume, endurance).
Experience with Virtual Machine creation and maintenance using VMware and Citrix and familiar with VMware best practices and trouble shooting.
Proficiency with IBM servers, IBM operating system and monitoring, enterprise system backup, virus protection, and patch management.
Complete data backup and restore tasks on tape and disk based backup platforms.
Knowledge in Active directory, DHCP, DNS, WSUS, Windows Server 2003/2008, diagnostic networking tools and enterprise monitoring applications.
Knowledge in the following areas a plus: Citrix and related support systems; SolarWinds, load balancing, network software protocols, software development life cycle.
Professional presentation and excellent customer service skills are a major requirement. Strong business and technical writing skills as well as oral communication.
Must be results orientated, self-motivated and possess high-energy.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
2+ years of experience in server administration with focus on VMware vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, Fault Tolerance, DRS, and/or SAN systems.

Certification Level:

8570 IAT II (Security+ CE) or higher required
MCSA/MCITP Windows 2008/2012 or Windows 7 (required)
VMware Certified Professional (desired)

Clearance:

Must have a current US Government SECRET Security Clearance

Education:

Bachelor in Computer Science, Engineering Management Information Systems or business related areas. Two (2) years experience is equivalent to one (I) year of education (i.e. eight (8) years experience is equivalent Bachelor's Degree.
