Position Basic Summary
The Restaurant Manager performs and directs overall restaurant management. Directs staff to ensure that food safety, product preparation, cleanliness standards and customer satisfaction initiatives are monitored and maintained. Maintains high standards of restaurant safety and security. Recruits proper adequate staff and oversees approved training programs. Responsible for maintaining accurate proper inventory and money control systems. Responsible for overall local marketing initiatives, utilizing various available methods, to contact prospective retail and business customers to promote all sale types including a high emphasis on catering. Maintains neat, organized and accurate business records. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
BASIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:
1. Completes and posts the staff work schedules.
2. Recruits, rewards and terminates staff as needed.
3. Communicates changes of food preparations formulas, standards, etc. to staff.
4. Ensures that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained and company safety and security policy are followed.
5. Maintains business records as outlined in the SUBWAY(R) Operations Manual.
6. Analyzes business records to increase sales.
7. Supports local and national marketing initiatives.
8. Identifies and contacts prospective customers to promote sales.
9. Plans special events and promotions.
10. Completes University of SUBWAY(R) courses as directed
*SUBWAY(R) Restaurant owners and general management may require other duties and responsibilities
Basic Prerequisites:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
Basic Experience & Skills: A minimum of two to four (2-4) years in a quick a service restaurant environment, proven successful experience in supervising, motivating and training staff. Excellent verbal and written, including electronic means, communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office products a must.
Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate and train a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register effectively. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently, up to 30 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds rarely.
