Assembler

Manpower is currently hiring an Assembler for one of our clients in Vicksburg, MS! SUMMARY *Assemble various industrial lighting fixtures by performing simple repetitive assembly tasks on paced-type or free roll conveyer following production schedules as directed by supervisor or set-up personnel and work from sample. *Handle and move parts from skids and pans to work bench, channels, ends, etc., changing methods or procedures only when directed. *Assist material handler in obtaining parts as necessary. *Perform individual quality inspection throughout the assembly process, marking and setting aside parts which have obvious defects and informing supervisor and /or set-up personnel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner. * Must observe safety rules and regulates at all times. * Performs additional related duties as required. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT * Includes hand operated power screwdriver, hand screwdriver, side cutting pliers, hammer, drift pin, nut runner, other hand tools, protective safety equipment. QUALIFICATIONS *High school diploma or general education degree (GED) *one to three months related experience and/or training. *Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. *Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. *Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. *Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. *Ability to work at a rapid, continuous pace. *Have good manual dexterity with hands. *Must reside and commute within 50 miles of Vicksburg Plant location. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision (painted parts), and depth perception (internal component assembly).
