Summary

Sr. Content Manager

The Senior Content Manager is the overseer of Agency's content both existing and newly developed. Responsible for all aspects of agency content projects, taking projects from original conception through completion, and a single point of contact for those projects. Position Summary

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Content Development
  • Work directly with agency leadership to develop new content and maintain existing high-quality content; assuring it has the proper tone, messaging, and effectiveness to support core and custom product offerings
  • Build, maintain, and implement content plans and editorial calendars to support annual product development defining owners and contributors where necessary
  • Partner with the Creative Department to develop and maintain understanding of content guidelines (style guides) and policies
  • Leverage market data and analytics (in partnership with Agency Insights and Analytics Team) to develop content themes/topics
  • Keep abreast of popular culture, marketing trends, industry developments, and competitive activities with the intentions of applying that “insight” to content development
  • Maintain regular updates to the agency’s content library, including managing vendor relationships from project start to finish in development of new content
  • On occasion, develop, write, and edit content (text, photos, video) from internal sources, vendor partners, and freelance subject matter experts to be used in client deliverables to ensure content is on strategy and in-line with client needs


Cross-Functional Support
  • Support agency partners with coordination of deliverables and updates across multiple departments including; Sales, Account Service, Creative, Production, and Fulfillment
  • Communicate and interact effectively with agency team members in all departments to deliver timely information and reports


Management of Team Members
  • Provides leadership, coaching and development to 2-3 associates within the content department
  • Responsible for keeping team members abreast of trends impacting the industry, competitive products, services and activities
  • Identifies deficiencies in team knowledge and or skills, puts a plan in place to procure, develop, and hone skills within the team

Indirect Reports

Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Travel and Driving is an essential duty and function of this job

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree
  • Field of Study/Area of Experience: Journalism, Food Studies or Culinary Arts or equivalent job-related experience or Marketing or Business degree with experience and/or interest in culinary arts is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing a plus or related field.
  • Background and experience or certification in food culture, culinary, culinary arts or related field preferred
  • Experience in managing teams with greater than 3 associates preferred


Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, and Software/Tools
  • Must have a broad knowledge of the industry and working understanding of content marketing as a discipline
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the industry and working understanding of content marketing as a discipline
  • Must have a background, expertise or passion for food writing and culinary arts
  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management skills
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Passion and experience in culinary arts is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in database management, preferably in a publishing, advertising, marketing or related field
  • Self-starter who is able to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a diverse working environment

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time, ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
