Position Description:
The MRI Technologist shall be responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures in accordance with standards and practice set forth by ARRT and Department Policies and Procedures. The MRI Technologist demonstrates a knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of electromagnetic and computer sciences, magnetic protection and specialized techniques. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
The MRI Tech is required to work weekends. Will perform inpatient adn ER MRI exams.
EDUCATION:
Required: Graduate of an America Medical Association- approved program in Radiologic Technology. Completion of courses in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and cross-sectional anatomy.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: One year experience as a Radiology Tech in an acute care setting or one year MR experience.
Preferred: Two years experience as MRI Tech.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Required:
Texas Certification of Medical Radiologic Technology. Basic CPR certification required. ARRT Certified MRI Technologist.
