Nurse Educator - Surgery - PT

Research Medical Center is currently looking for a Nurse Educator - Surgery.

Responsibilities:

The Nurse Educator functions as an educational

and clinical resource for Surgical Services personnel. Educational services include the development,

coordination, and/or instruction of educational programs designed to meet the

needs of the professional and non-professional personnel and which are in

accordance with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the Surgical

Services Department. The educator will

function as an informal consultant to facilitate holistic nursing care of

patients and their families/significant other.

He/she will also be actively involved as planner; facilitator and/or

participant in any ongoing research related to the clinical outcomes of

patients or education outcomes of staff.

Qualifications:

Graduated from an accredited nursing

program. Bachelor’s degree is

required. Graduate degree in nursing or

related field preferred. Current state of Missouri RN licensure required. BLS certification required and maintained. Certification in area of specialty preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of theories and

principles of adult education. Experience in nursing education ideal, though not a prerequisite. Demonstrates professional growth, initiative

and creativity. A minimum of 3 years clinical experience. Experience in teaching in an academic or

health care related field preferred.
