Position Summary:

The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech is responsible for direct and indirect patient care, scrubbing for diagnostic/interventional cases, circulating diagnostic and interventional cases and hemodynamic monitoring. Maintain professional standards and seek professional growth. Providing care to patients ranging from adult to geriatric, utilizing in accordance with the medical staff and within the organizational structure, philosophy and goals and objectives of the Cardiology Department and North Austin Medical Center. Knowledge & Skills:

Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA's and North Austin Medical Center's "Patient First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures. Must be able to work independently, complete tasks without supervision and demonstrate independence with decision-making and problem solving in job related activities. Exhibits regular, predictable attendance in accordance with departmental policies and be able to manage time demands effectively. Demonstrates flexibility to changing work environment or responsibilities and must be able to function in emergency situations. Exhibits professional and ethical conduct at all times and is courteous with patients, co-workers, family members, physicians and the general public. Appropriately handles confidential information regarding patient records. Must take initiative to set own schedule and patient related goals. Maintains a safe working environment provides instruction to family, patients and other professional and communicates effectively using written, verbal, computer and telephone communication. Uses a broad variety of equipment and patient care appliances routinely to provide patient care. Population served may range form adults to geriatric patients. Must pass competency checklists for all responsibilities outlined by the departmental/program policy. Will participate and promote positive team interactions to ensure quality patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Education:

Preferred: Graduate of CVT School or RT Program

Experience:

Required: Two years acute care hospital experience

Preferred: Previous Cath Lab Experience; Previous experience in Special Procedures; Computer skills

Credentials:

Required: BLS Certification

Preferred: Registered CVT or RT; ACLS
