CNA - Med Surg (Part Time)

Under the direction of the Director and general supervision of the Staff Nurse, assists in basic nursing care needs. Responsible for the care appropriate to the ages of the patients served, i.e. adult and geriatric. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development; has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these patient groups. Duties may include but are not limited to: daily baths, linen changes, vital signs, glucometer, I&O, documentation requirements, daily ADLs, patient feeding (passing and setting up food trays) room organization and cleanliness, toileting, fall prevention, turning, D/C peripheral IV removal, ambulation, empyting drains with the exception of neuro, EKG, telemetry set ups, daily HS cares, unit clerk duties.

A. Licensure/ Certification/ Registration: Current Nursing Assistant Certification. Current Healthcare Provider BLS.

B . Education: Formal nurse aid training.

C . Experience: Previous CNA or unit secretary experience preferred.

D . Special Qualifications: Ability to lift 50 pounds. Must able to push and pull up to 150 pounds on cart. Knowledge of medical terminology. Good customer service

skills.
