Job Description

Monitors patient response to current plan of care and partners with Physician toward goal achievement

Administers medications according to the seven (7) rights of medication administration

Assesses and documents pain scale (0-10) upon administration of analgesic, and monitors effects/response to medication.

Accurately assesses need for restraints based on demonstrated behavior and failure of all alternatives. Reassesses for early release

Monitors patient when restrained based on policy

Demonstrates competency in IV Therapy administration

Administers and monitors patients receiving blood and blood products per policy

Monitors patient based on conscious sedation policy

Demonstrates competency in placement of PICC lines and assessment of patient

Assesses and documents patient/family learning needs, abilities, preference and readiness to learn based on age specificity and level of understanding.

Identifies and documents patient/family education in collaboration with other disciplines and implements initial and ongoing education relevant to those needs based on disease process, diet, pain management, medication, medical equipment and continuing care needs.

Job Qualifications include:

Florida RN license

BLS and ACLS req.

1-3 years of exp pref.

Imaging exp pref.
