About this job
*1. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide nursing care to the medical/oncology patient. Takes an active role in improving the documentation/teaching process within Radiation Oncology.
*2 . Performs job tasks to ensure personal, patient and department safety. Meets all required yearly education mandated by LGMC.
*3. Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Documents required information according to hospital policy. Ensures age specific criteria is followed for each age range.
*4. Functions in an organized and time conscious manner. Demonstrates leadership in the education of staff, serves as a resource person to ensure effective use of resources. Serves on two hospital committees and participates in the organization’s continuous performance improvement activities.
*5. Presents self in a professional and polite manner.
*6. Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others. Uses appropriate patient education documentation modality.
*7. Assists with at least two special events/ screenings per year.
EXPERIENCE
Required- Current Virginia RN license or license pending state board approval.
Preferred- Two years experience in area of clinical expertise to which applying.
EDUCATION
Required- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
