About this job
I. Position Summary:
Administers, organizes and conducts training of educational programs and including AHA Life Support courses (BLS, ACLS, and PALS) and process improvement projects. The Educator serves as a consultant, facilitator, preceptor and educator for staff, caregivers and patients in the cancer center patients served in the cancer center. Maintains records of in-service and training activities. Performs all other duties as assigned.
II. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: (Minimum qualifications for the position)
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Louisiana licensure maintained in primary field of practice. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS Provider and Instructor certification required.
B. Education: Bachelor of Science preferred but not required.
C. Experience: 3-5 years experience in primary field of practice. Previous education and/or management experience desirable.
D. Special qualifications: Must demonstrate a strong life support knowledge base, effective problem solving skills, ability to work flexible hours as necessary. Requires computer competence (Internet, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint); excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong group presentation skills; working knowledge of adult learning principles; group process and facilitation skills.
E. Hours of work: 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. or as required
