About this job
Collects data from the patient and other appropriate resources in a systematic manner that is accessible, communicable, and recorded in a clear, legible fashion.
Registered Nurses who are designated as Qualified Medical Persons appropriately assess and communicate findings of the Medical Screen Examination with the physician.
Ensures admission and hospital criteria are met.
Participates in providing a therapeutic milieu.
Ensures confidentiality, privacy, and safety for patients.
Demonstrates knowledge of ECO/TDO according to the Virginia State Code.
Follows established procedures performing job functions. Follows appropriate safety guidelines.
Works as a member of a team to problem solve and deliver quality care to patients.
Attends all in-services and education requirements; completes departmental Competency Based Orientation and Competency Based Evaluation requirements.
Required - Demonstrated excellent communication skills
Preferred - One year of experience in inpatient psychiatric setting or
one year of experience in related mental health field.
EDUCATION
Required - Must possess RN Licensure in the State of Virginia and must be in good standing.
OR
Masters Degree in Psychology or health related field.
Preferred - BSN Preferred
TRAINING
Required - RN’s must have Basic Life Support and AED which is kept current at all times.
