About this job

Provides staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader and researcher, supporting the development of the bedside nurse, and fostering empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence in the delivery of evidenced based nursing practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate to meet the diverse needs of various departments/units as well as within organization globally.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Masters Degree in a health related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

3 to 5 years related experience in a health care setting. 5 years clinical nursing experience and/or clinical education experience preferred

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated success and abilities in leadership, achieving results, communications, customer service, project management, program development, and facilitating and leading effective education programs in the clinical setting. Knowledge of learning principles, instructional design, program evaluation, and training methods appropriate to multicultural and multigenerational groups.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida required. BLS required.

Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) certification preferred.
