Key Responsibilities

Responsible for leading and managing the Mojave facility environment, health and safety process in accordance with the Aerospace business unit and the PPG Corporate EHS strategy. Participates in the Global Aerospace SBU EH&S initiatives to support the SBU EH&S strategy. The incumbent will provide leadership, direction and training that will ensure a safe and healthful workplace for the Mojave employees while ensuring compliance with applicable safety, health and environmental laws and regulations to minimize current and future liabilities. Evaluates site equipment, systems and work procedures and recommend effective procedures for safe use. Conducts industrial hygiene monitoring and implement any required procedural changes. Assists in preparing required Environmental Reports in accordance with federal, state, and corporate requirements/regulations. Active member of the Emergency Response Team. Oversee activities of incident investigation, behavior based safety, ergonomic and site safety teams. Organize and maintain the various required EH&S training programs including OSHA, RCRA and emergency response. The EH&S Manager will oversee all Environmental issues, ensuring all compliance is met with Federal, State, and corporate regulations related to environmental, health, and safety. The incumbent is a key member of the plant management’s staff and participates in key business strategic initiatives, quality initiatives, community communications, and focused efforts with various steering committees. Incumbent will maintain and promote measures to prevent any significant adverse effect on PPG employees, customers, general population, or the environment and will comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to PPG’s Corporate EH&S Policy relating to Safety and the Environment. Prepare site EH&S reports. Coordinate procurement of site PPE. Meet 5S goals in areas where responsible. Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and procedures at all times. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience and Education


A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or related discipline, with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in EHS functions in a manufacturing facility.

Functional and Technical Skill
