The  Sr. Client Manager is responsible for leading client services for the payment integrity team.  This position is responsible for Account Management functions including the collaborative development of annual savings targets, development of initiatives with clients and business stakeholders, enabling transparency into business risks & issues, facilitation of escalated process and performance issues, and developing relationships with UHC to deliver critical information and support for the Data Mining and Recovery solutions.  This role acts as an advisor and sounding board to help establish business direction and drive business performance.  Develops presentations/materials, coordinates requests, and supports the client's planning process to drive increased payment integrity savings. 

The successful candidate will be a seasoned claims, data mining or recoveries professional with proven experience working at the senior management levels.  Experience as a Project or Program Manager is also desired – as this role enables overall Account Planning & Management.  The ability to identify and drive scope, deliverables, manage stakeholders and to ensure crisp execution is key to this role.  Your experience in finding repeatable methods to drive consistent delivery of solutions and develop trusted partnerships will be key success factors. 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Partners with clients and business stakeholders to build an effective Account Plan that addresses client's business needs (current and emerging), supports growth, provides measurable value, and increases client engagement/loyalty.
  • Establishes, cultivates and manages the customer relationship at multiple levels in the functional areas assigned, (senior manager to solution owners) serving as a trusted business advisor.
  • Constantly assesses the value our solutions that are being delivered to develop approaches that increase the value we provide and increase the impact Optum has on the client's business. Proactively works with teams and clients to facilitate renewal business and expansion of solutions.
  • Responsible for partnering with the Client Implementation organization to execute on business expansion plans. Including development of the opportunity, expansion reviews and post contract reviews through implementation.
  • Manages priorities, visibility & tradeoffs of the Account Plan with the client and business stakeholders.
  • Provides reporting to/from the client and the business stakeholders.
  • Provides oversight and escalation for issue management – escalates to leadership when necessary.
  • Providers VOC to the business stakeholders to provide clear understanding of the client's priorities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience working with clients and Senior-level leadership to support client/leadership consultation.
  • 3+ years experience in a health insurance operations or leadership support role including client management, claims processing or other healthcare related leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to message, position, and present information for maximum customer impact and influence.
  • Experience developing, implementing and delivering on growth strategies.
  • Ability to establish credibility and build relationships at all levels.    
  • Ability to travel 20%.
  • 2+ years experience working in a matrixed and high change environment handling tight deadlines.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medicaid experience.
  • Project or Program Management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Financial acumen and experience, with experience managing a P&L.
  • Experience with industry Consulting with heavy focus and background in Claims Administration and Payment Integrity.
