Light Industrial Electrical Maintenance / Construction / Handyman Technician
Reporting to: Technical Manager / Plant Manager
Position is screen-to-hire through AtWork Personnel
Job Duties:
- Pull electrical cables, install water boiler, control conduits, replace lambs, replace conduits/cables/switches/fuses, etc.
- Ensure conformance to regulations and always make safety a first priority
- Odd jobs as instructed by supervisor
Must be able to:
- Understand the difference between, and be able to work with, 110 208 480 Volt, 1 Phase, 3 Phase, etc.
- Work with different electrical tools and machinery needed to perform the tasks as assigned by supervisor
- Understand and perform related tasks such as inspection of electrical installations, quality hereof, make suggestions for improvements, etc.
- Understand the basis of electrical distribution boards, fuses and be able to make a list of traceability
Position Demands:
- Physical - Medium work - (Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Reaching) Exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Activities - Occasionally sitting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, balancing, keyboard use, color vision, field of vision. Frequently walking, talking, sit/standing. Constantly standing, handling, fingering, feeling, hearing
- Environmental Conditions - Loud. Occasional exposure to electric shock, wet and/or humid, proximity to moving parts
- Reasoning A bility - Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete va riables in standardized situations
- Mathamatical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common factors, and decimals. Ability to computer, rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employes of the organization
