About this job


We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced consumer lending professional to take Discover Personal Loans to the next level.

This person will be responsible for identifying and implementing new business opportunities for the growth of Personal Loans business. The person should have in depth knowledge of the consumer lending industry with a keen business acumen to be able to research and identify new products, channels, partnerships and affiliations for Personal Loans, and be able to short list the feasible opportunities and implement them with the various business partners, both internal and external.

In depth knowledge of consumer lending products, processes and risk management is a must. The person should have a good mix of analytical skills and strong product knowledge. Person should be able to research and interpret consumer behavior to create the right product for the market and then create a business plan including full P&L. Business knowledge of systems and software will be a plus.

Key deliverables:
•Develop new products with a good understanding of the personal loans industry, and consumer needs.
•Ability to lead a team of analysts conducting complex financial and product analytics to evaluate product loss, yield, expense and profitability performance.
•Ability to manage strategic relationships with leadership team in acquisition, servicing and collections operations area to understand impact on consumer experience.
•Operate as a subject matter expert for the consumer loan portfolio.
•Ability to understand consumer insights and convert into product features.
•Identify new areas to grow the product and increase portfolio size and profitability.
•Proactively monitor acquisition metrics and performance and advise management of trends and recommend applicable actions / corrective solutions.
•Monitor industry trends and build the industry leading products for DPL, provide competitive advantage for our loan product.
•Manage value of every product to best in class through multiple success factors including but not limited to performance analysis, policy execution, exception reporting, application and volume data.
•Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.

Qualifications

Experience
•Minimum ten years professional experience within the financial services industry. Experience in personal loans or credit risk role preferred.
•Strong knowledge of industry practices and performance measurements.
•Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally managing teams and supervising outside professionals.

•Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through on completion of complex, high-profile projects.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent priorities in a dynamic environment.
•Detail oriented with aptitude to implement quality controls throughout work processes.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
•Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills required.

Education:
•Minimum Bachelors degree required, Masters degree in Economics, applied Social Sciences or MBA with emphasis in quantitative disciplines (statistics, econometrics, etc.) preferred.
