The Network Operations Center team is a critical support element to ensuring service availability to the Discover organization. The team is responsible for ensuring the operational integrity and reliable communications of a number of key platforms that serve as a foundation for Business Technology. Responsible for providing proactive and reactive support of key routers, switches, load balancers and DNS/DHCP platforms for the organization.Perform proactive and reactive monitoring and support of the enterprise data network platformsTroubleshoot Cisco routers, gateways and switches across the enterprise networkProvide operational support and troubleshooting of network routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, static routes and policy-based routing Perform administration and troubleshooting of the enterprise DNS systemPerform troubleshooting of telecommunications carrier circuits from ranging T1 to Gigabit EthernetSupport the enterprise load balancer and SSL termination platformsManaging incident queue, escalation calls and support requests from first level, service catalog and Command CenterLeverage available network monitoring systems eHealth, Ciscoworks and Netscout nGenius to maximize network availabilityMonitor network capacity and utilization to ensure adequate network performance at all timesMust be able to develop, and adhere to, process documentation and network policiesPerform validation on Data Network changesParticipation in RRTs and providing updates to management, command center, business and BT Sr. management regarding problem resolutionManaging availability through trouble shooting and root cause analysis of issuesThis position is a shift based role (2nd shift) but flexibility is expected within the 7 day weekMust work well independently with minimal supervision and as part of a larger group.Must work well under tight time lines.CCNA/CCNP certification or equivalent experience is a must
