To qualify for this position 2 years experience as a Ultrasound Technologist in a Medical Center environment performing a full array of ultrasound and vascular procedures is preferred. Experience required for this position includes the following knowledge, skills and abilities. Knowledge of: PACS medical terminology, anatomy and physiology relating to ultrasound and medical imaging; ultrasound physics and instrumentation. Ability to: perform diagnostic ultrasound and vascular procedures with a high level of expertise; distinguish between normal and abnormal pathology; work independently adjusting priorities according to changing clinical situations; prioritize work; communicate well with others; deal effectively with ill and agitated patients; review and understand medical records; work independently. Candidates must have Ultrasound Technologist I- one ARDMS registry, Vascular experienced and a BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

The incumbent operated ultrasound and related imaging equipment to produce diagnostic ultrasound studies and images according to protocols established by the Department Chairman. Demonstrates competency in care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Technologist is required to participate in the department's call schedule to provide weeknight, weekend, and holiday coverage.
