POSITION PURPOSE
The Advice and Counsel Advisor provides guidance and counseling to managers and associates on a wide range of associate relations topics through a centralized services delivery model. Approximately 90% of work time involves providing telephone-based resolution of issues. The Advisor handles inbound calls, identifies caller's need, and provides coaching and counseling on issues including, but not limited to, performance management, compensation, terminations, exit processing, interpretation of HR policies, management practices, and conflict resolution. The Advisor will escalate complex issues as required. The Advisor provides quality customer service to associates and managers by assisting with requests related to HR issues and ensure that requested needs are resolved in a timely manner. The Advice and Counsel Advisor works in the Atlanta Store Support Center and reports to the Senior Manager - Advice and Counsel.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
20% Providing excellent customer service and expert counseling to Home Depot managers and associates.
40% Managing cases from receipt, and escalating to the appropriate Advice and Counsel Manager when necessary
20% Partnering with resources from other areas including field HR, Legal, Loss Prevention, Associate Relations to effectively resolve issues
20% Ensuring associate and manager calls are properly handled and documented for investigation by Manager, Advice and Counsel, resolution is consistent with company policy, and cases are closed in a timely manner.

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must pass the Background Check.
Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 02

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field 3 years in Associate Relations, Human Resources, HR Call Center, or Home Depot equivalent, with at least 50% or more focus on investigations and case management Experience within a centralized HR service delivery model Home Depot experience PHR or SPHR or equivalent certification
