Your role is to provide oversight and strategic leadership of the national account sales organization across the Food & Retail, Commercial Property, Shopping Center and Construction business segments. You will deliver continuous improvement in the areas of customer service and organizational effectiveness, consistent with the organization's long-term objectives. You effectively analyze trends and strategies related to these key growth segments to drive growth, customer retention, and profitability for the enterprise.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

- Sets overall customer alliance strategy, clearly articulating appropriate objectives

- Works to develop and modify value propositions to meet the needs of customers

- Assists in developing the sales structure, compensation plans, reporting mechanisms, and sales training for the segment-based sales organization

- Responsible for representing the voice of the customer with other departments and groups within the company through collaboration with operations, recycling, community relations, marketing, customer service, governmental affairs to meet customer expectations

- Provides respected thought leadership identifying industry issues and trends that support Senior Leaders, Area Vice Presidents and Area Sales Managers/Directors with critical input to achieve company's goals

- Works with leadership to develop Sales team and talent

- Identifies opportunities to expand Waste Management services within customer base through extensive knowledge of the customer

- Collaborates with teams to develop ideas to improve existing methods, services, products, processes and /or procedures

- Understands all aspects of the competitive landscape in order to provide market assessment and implement appropriate sales strategies and related tactics

- Establishes appropriate measure of performance reporting on the growth and performance of the segment to Senior Leadership Team

- Solves both commonly encountered and complex issues. May investigate and resolve matters that are pertinent to the company's success

- Creates and manages a departmental budget

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job is the management of managerial employees. This includes:

Supervision, coaching, development and training of direct reports

Indirect supervision, coaching, development and training of a large, geographically disbursed, organization

IV. Qualifications

A. Demonstrated Performance

- Demonstrated leadership including ability to influence at all levels of the organization

- Established track record of consistently guiding execution of strong, result oriented strategies

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive level memos and presentations

- Proactive nature and initiative to drive results and culture change through key personnel

- Proven ability to hire and develop talented individuals who will grow into future leaders for the organization

- Ability to travel up to 30 to 40% of the time

- Ability to complete complex negotiations and initiatives

B. Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Sales, Business Administration or similar area of study, and ten or more years previous experience preferably in an environmental waste or related industry.

Preferred: Master's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Sales, Business Administration or similar area of study, and ten or more years previous experience.
