Lead Electrical Design Engineer with Aerospace
Utilize extensive knowledge of industry standard cable assembly design and manufacturing practices to develop and maintain cable assembly designs in accordance with customer specifications. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Electrical Design Engineering Team.

Lead Electrical Design Engineer with Aerospace
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical leadership to electrical design engineering team to achieve technical objectives of the project while maintaining first-time accuracy and on-time delivery.
Maintain accuracy and schedule attainment metrics and provide analysis and feedback to goal achievement.
Represent Electrical Design Engineering team in value stream meetings and inter-department activities.
Serve as back-up to Design Engineering Manager when necessary.
Work closely with Program Managers to assure customer issues are identified, resolved and schedule commitments are clearly communicated and accepted.
Interpret customer requirements, specifications and workmanship standards to develop cable assembly designs requested by customer.
Responsible for creating 2D drawings to include Bill of Materials, cable assembly layouts, schematics and/or wiring diagrams.
Select appropriate components (interconnects and wire) based on customer interface, specifications and regulatory requirements.
May be required to design cable assemblies from information derived from customers 3D CAD models.
Fully understand CITs production capabilities, data requirements and communicate professionally with customer.
Act as external liaison working at customer site. Coordinate customer technical activities with internal CIT sales personnel and product engineers.
Process Engineering Change Documents and drawing updates when necessary to provide resolutions to customer design changes, drawing corrections and enhancements.
Coordinate with CIT Product Engineering team to ensure technical assessment is completed for each design project that CIT is manufacturing.
Provide support to CIT production engineers and process engineers for cable assembly designs in production.
Provide customer technical contacts with onsite technical support involving industry standards, military specifications, design assistance, CIT production capabilities and material requirements.


Lead Electrical Design Engineer with Aerospace
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. Electrical Engineering, B.S. Mechanical Engineering, B.S. Manufacturing Engineering, B.S. Industrial Engineering, or equivalent and/or 7-15 years of experience in a similar position.
Minimum 3-5 years experience as a lead engineer in an aerospace cable assembly design environment.
Proficient with Catia, AutoCAD and/or Pro/E.
Extensive knowledge of commercial aerospace regulatory requirements and general design requirements for aircraft wiring.
Through understanding of components, processes, equipment, standards and terminology used in Aerospace cable assembly design.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel and customers.
Prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a high pace and responsive environment.
Excellent personal computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
Able to read and interpret required documentation from a wide variety of customers.
Able and willing to travel by air and auto throughout the USA.
Manual dexterity used occasionally with repetitive finger motion.
Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, able to identify colors and adjust focus.
