Mechanical Drafter/Designer

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the creation of engineering drawings, Bills of Materials, and related documentation. Resolves associated documentation, fabrication and mechanical problems. Depending on experience and education, may be responsible for design of machine components or for special modifications to existing machinery or sub assemblies.
Knowledgable in commonly used practices and procedures within the drafting profession.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Drafting and possible design of components for material handling equipment
Creation of all necessary documentation such as assembly, parts drawings,Bill of Materials,
Provide engineering support for manufacturing
Produce layouts of integrated systems for customer order documentation.
Support engineering, Document control departments


Supporting sales and service departments
Mechanical ability to assist with prototype construction


KNOWLEDGE:
Must be proficient with Solidworks and AutoCad. Will be administered a timed test on both CAD systems. Experience with large sheetmetal parts and weldments highly desirable. Would also like someone who has done some fabrication in the manufacturing area if possible. Experience with such things automation, conveyor, machining, tooling etc. would be a big plus

Knowledge of proper GD&T, materials and fabrication processes

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Windows operating systems
Knowledge of document control systems, SAP, PLM/PDM a plus


SKILLS:
Must be organized and able to meet critical deadlines, able to organize time to handle concurrent assignments.

Must possess excellent communication, problem solving, team interface and
interpersonal skills
