Sodexo is seeking a Executive Chef 2 for food service at Southeastern Oklahoma State University located in Durant, OK. Durant is a growing community with a population of 17,000. It is conveniently located in Bryan County in southeastern Oklahoma, just 15 miles from scenic Lake Texoma, 80 miles north of Dallas, TX. and 150 miles south of Oklahoma City. Durant is the 2nd fastest growing city in Oklahoma! Southeastern Oklahoma State University is a part of the Oklahoma Regional University System. Food operations include resident dining, catering, concessions and retail.

As Executive Chef, you will be responsible responsible for culinary production, menu development and quality control for the food service operation. Resposibilities include food ordering, accuracy and management of weekly food inventory and effectively reducing food cost to maintain a profitable level. Additional responsibilities include preparation of weekly menus that provide customers with healthy and nutritious menu items while creating excitement for customers to include local and national food trends. The Executive Chef role requires strong customer service skills as well as responsibility for training and mentoring staff to enforce customer service standers at all times. Typical schedule is Sunday through Thursday with occasional catering activities on Friday/Saturday .

Position Summary

Designs, supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
