About this job
Under the supervision of the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center Clinical Manager and Head of Pediatric Diabetes, the Pediatric Diabetes Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive diabetes care, case management, and education to patients with diabetes and for working cooperatively in all areas of the Berrie Center diabetes program. In addition, the nurse will be involved in clinical trials for adult and pediatric patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Requires a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing a minimum of 4 years of experience plus at least one year of floor nursing. Experience with insulin pumps preferred.
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in NY State.
Ability to work collaborative in a patient care team required.
Must have experience with pediatric diabetes patients
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Diabetes Educator certification preferred
Masters degree preferred
Experience with clinical trials preferred
