Primary Responsibilities:



  • Role may include triaging/resolving operational
    issues/concerns relating to prior authorization requests, providing operational
    instructions to senior prior authorization technicians and addressing
    operational and compliance needs.
  • Role may include reviewing and approving prior authorization
    requests or pending prior authorization requests to clinical pharmacists for
    review.
  • Role may include contacting members, doctor's offices and
    other internal departments in order to securing the clinical and other
    benefits-related information necessary to complete prior authorization reviews.
  • Role may also include resolving customer service-related
    issues and ensuring accurate service-related information is provided.
  • Role may include participating in quality improvement and
    process enhancement projects as assigned by management.
  • Dedication to build rapport with coworkers, internal
    customers, and other departments by demonstrating a strong customer service
    orientation and a continuous positive image of OptumRx.
  • Demonstrate ability to strengthen productive working
    relationships and effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with team
    members, other internal and external customers, and management team.
  • Orient, train, and coach lower level staff.

Requirements

Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Current Kansas Pharmacy Technician State License (for the
    Overland Park, KS, location only) or Current California Pharmacy Technician
    State License (for the Cypress, CA, location only) (or National Certification)
    with no restriction



  • Availability to work an 8-hour scheduled shift within:  M-F 7a-9p, Sa-Su 8a-5p
  • Availability to work 40-hours per week and overtime as
    required, according to the needs of the business
  • 1+ years of Pharmacy-related experience
  • 1+ years of Customer Service experience analyzing and solving
    customer service related issues
  • Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, and
    Outlook


Assets:



  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
  • Pharmacy Benefits Management experience is highly preferred.
  • 1+ year experience leading/supervising a team or SME
    (Subject Matter Expert)
  • Knowledge of commonly used OptumRx's systems such as
    PAS, RxHD, AS400 (RxCLAIM), and IRIS is highly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Specialty Medications is preferred,
    specifically, but is not limited to: therapeutic categories - rheumatoid
    arthritis, multiple sclerosis, hepatitis C, cancer, transplant, IVIG and growth
    hormones.
