Description

Shipping & Receiving Clerk
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for shipping, receiving, returns, carrier relations, order management, product management and customer service. Assumes prompt, accurate, and systematic handling of finished goods and raw materials orders while providing outstanding customer service

Shift and Schedule:
This is a full time permanent position. There are two openings. One position will be assigned to work on the 2nd shift. 2nd shift hours are from 2:00pm-10:30pm and one position will be assigned to work on the 3rd shift. 3rd shift hours are from 10:00pm-6:30am. Each person hired must be flexible to work either shift and be open to overtime and weekends as the business needs dictate. Please note that this position will not be working on 1st shift.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Check in and out truck drivers in a timely manner using Carrier Point (logistics software used by Ryder).
  2. Proficient use of SAP – EWM for management for processing orders and door assignments.
  3. Accurately handle all transactions which in many cases are legal documents.
  4. Assign drivers to doors to be loaded and unloaded.
  5. Assign material handlers to load the trucks.
  6. Complete the bill of ladings for drivers and get the proper signatures.
  7. Maintain the office areas to include filing and cleaning duties as required.
  8. Ensure compliance with safety codes, policies and procedures of the Company and Standards established by Office of Safety and Health Administration.
  9. Execute new approaches/procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the department and services performed.
  10. Canadian transfer order creation. Prepare all necessary paperwork.
  11. Assure prompt, accurate and systematic handling of finished goods and raw materials orders while providing outstanding customer service.
  12. Assist leadership roles in effective deployment of daily scheduled activities to include interaction with loaders for order processing.
  13. Liaison between Customer Service Representatives, Ryder Logistics, Corporate Planners and Staff to drive efficient customer service levels.
  14. Ability to manage high volume, multi-tasking environment.
  15. Monitors & Achieves KPI’s developed for local work area to ensure successful achievement/alignment to department KPI’s.
  16. Performs SAP-WMS computer based activities as assigned to include exception, performance and inventory reports.
  17. Accountable to RDC leadership for daily instruction and any special projects as directed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • 2 years' logistics, or shipping and receiving experience
  • 2 years' working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • 2 years' experience with an automated warehouse management systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Red Prairie
