Manpower is currently recruiting for a Machinist position for one of our clients in Boyne City, MI!
Key Accountabilities:
* Set up and operate various machines with minimal supervision.
* Operate powered machines, including manual and CNC equipment.
* Share knowledge with other employees to improve production, reduce cost, increase efficiency, and improve safe work practices.
* Support and participate in HOS philosophy (TPM, 5S, SMED, CI, RPS, etc.).
* Daily maintenance (as required) of equipment and machines in the machine shop.
* Deburr, clean and inspect parts.
* Work in a team environment.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Three years of machine shop experience.
* Must be able to work in a team environment. Some of which are from different functions of the organization. (NPI, different product teams, HOS leaders, etc.)
* Operate powered machines including manual mills, lathes, grinders, saws, presses, etc.
* Proficient in CNC programming (M-code & G-code), set-up, & operation of manual and CNC equipment.
* Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, CMM, and other measuring equipment.
* Read and interpret engineering blueprints, have a full understanding of the principles and rules used in interpreting symbols, dimensioning, and tolerance. .
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Thorough understanding of geometric terms, concepts, principle and rules used in measurement and manufacturing of parts.
* Understand and able to calculate tolerances and dimensions.
* Must have CNC and manual machining experience.
* Move freely around work area.
* Sit or Stand for long periods of time.
* Lift up to 35 pounds.
* Handle heavy tools and fixtures (with assistance if needed).
* Ability to read write and communicate with other employees.
* Proper use of tools and safe work practices.
* General computer skills.
* Work to blueprints and work instructions (SOS's) for the manufacture of production components.
* Assure safe operation and care of machine shop equipment.
* Produce quality work in a timely manner.
* Troubleshoot and solve tooling problems with minimal assistance.
Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Contract Length: 8 months
Pay: $15/hr
