TIG/MIG Welder

Aerotek is currently seeking welders in the San Diego area. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience welding MIG and TIG and certifications are a plus. Candidates will be required to meet company specifications within 2 weeks of hire. More skills and qualifications for the position are below:

• TIG and MIG weld carbon steels, stainless steels, chrome-molly steels, all positions. Can pass welding exam and physical welding test (x-ray confirmed)
• Weld thin alloy metal (stainless, Inconel, and various other alloys) to carbon and stainless steels.
• Reads and understands weld symbols and weld procedures. Based on this understanding, able to choose the correct filler metal.
• Reads fabrication drawings (two dimensional) and understands tolerances.
• Operates gantry and jib cranes.
• Knows how to safely rig and move material with cranes and forklifts. Knows how to rotate and end-wise flip cylindrical parts with appurtenances.
• Able to fit complex parts, properly align, and pass QC inspections to ensure fit up conforms to drawing and engineering procedures.
• Can use all measuring tools, including PI tapes.
