Position Purpose :
The Advertising Copywriter develops new copy for various promotional emails/CRM programs. Accuracy of content, editorial consistency and correct brand positioning are top responsibilities. Writer must be a highly creative problem solver and adept at negotiating with clients to execute key deliverables with exceptional quality and proficient speed. Collaborates with cross functional teams to ensure copy consistency cross channels. Ensures copy delivers accurate hd.com experience and relates to available content. Partners with Sr. Managers of Creative, Designers, Vendors, Agency Partners, Merchants, Merchandise Marketing/Project Managers to deliver seamless solutions.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities :
35%-Writes and proofreads promotional and/or product copy for all assigned categories and media channels; researches vendor and competitor sources to develop copy that meets THD standards.

25%-Negotiates with marketing and merchants on focus and content to promote and protect the THD brand; ensures message is consistent with leadership vision.

25%-Works with creative staff, marketing/project managers, agencies and others to deliver copy that is accurate, adheres to corporate/federal/state regulations and meets deadlines.

15%-Serves as a copy and informational resource for internal and external partners. Collaborates with other cross functional teams for consistency cross channels. Ensures copy delivers accurate hd.com experience.

Position reports to Sr Manager Copy
This position has no direct reports

Environmental Job Requirements :
Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Standard Minimum Qualifications :
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must pass Background Check.
Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.

Education Required :
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Work Experience Required : 3

Physical Requirements :
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications :
Experience creating, editing and proofing copy and content in a minimum of two of the following mediums: print, OLA, email, web. Previous employment in a retail environment working with a team of designers and production specialists.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies :
Working knowledge of Mac OS, Microsoft Office, InDesign or similar DTP program required; Adobe CS, HTML5, JavaScript, Flash and other emerging platforms a plus.

Well-developed communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale for client and team.

Competent in strategic brainstorming, campaign development and creative brief execution.

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, self-manage workload and prioritize deadlines.

Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Adaptability to changes in process, technology, strategy.
