The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a/an RF Spectrum Project Engineer for our Spectrum Planning team in Engineering Planning Implementation/FNEO organization. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Position Summary:
The Spectrum Project Engineer must have the ability to participate in the definition of spectrum goals, including research of new technologies and proof of concept projects. The overall purpose of this position is to provide planning and technology support across the TechNO teams for the various lineups/sites across the company. In addition this position would work closely with strategy development for long term bandwidth planning.
Essential Job Functions:
• Primary role will be maintaining Spectrum Plan Data for One TWC and responsible as a SME on RF Spectrum Engineering.
• Assists and supports Directors/Managers of the various groups within TechNO to deliver spectrum management projects involving network planning, frequency management and utilization measurement activities across the entire enterprise. Monitor and Manage spectrum utilization for the region Consults with engineers to evaluate spectrum needs and alternatives as well as performance requirements of overall system.
• Support Spectrum Database development – testing, requirements, reporting and maintaining accurate data.
• Formulates and suggests spectrum alternatives given the long term technology strategy.
• Uses models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of alternative spectrum designs.
• Contribute to product launches by determining spectrum options to accomplish launch. This position works with representatives from all departments to collaborate on the requirements, specifications and design of new architectures as well as new products and services and the spectrum needs associated with such.
• This position analyzes forecast models to adequately forecast scalability requirements to include spectrum requirements on a short term and long term basis.
• Participates in the research of New Technologies and Proof of Concept Projects.
• Effectively manage complex and lengthy assignments involving multiple contributors in an organization of comparable size and scope.
Job Requirements:
• Strong data analyst skills, problem solving skills, above average planning skills, and risk assessment skills.
• Resilient under pressure and self-motivated. Experience with gathering and charting technical requirements.
• Above average skills with software tools to aid with planning/presenting information internally and externally: MS Project, Excel and Power Point, MS Access, Oracle and Web Databases
• Superior writing and presentation skills
• Experience with interpreting large amounts of data in easy to read reports that align with engineering product goals.
• Excellent data accuracy; extremely organized and possesses strong presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• RF Spectrum Experience Required
• MSO Experience Preferred
• PMP Certification Preferred
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus preferred or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Minimum 5 years of project planning experience working with diverse and cross functional work groups/teams.
