JOB SUMMARY

Participates in developing functional requirements, testing, training, documentation and implementation of applications. Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments and preliminary cost/benefits analysis in an effort to align information technology with business initiatives. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation times, and form of desired results. Oversees the preparation of functional, system and program specifications using appropriate methodology and tools. Troubleshoots systems issues working closely with multiple partners, including Global Design, Information Technology, and external vendors.

CANDIDATE PROFILE


Education and Experience


Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Business Analysis
  • Minimum 5 years' experience Information Technology (IT) or related field.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • PeopleSoft experience, preferably PC, AP, GL, PO, BI, AR.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supported discipline, primarily Finance and/or Procurement.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree
  • Experience with data warehouse SDLC
  • Experience developing complex queries using PeopleSoft Query Manager
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and proactively drive initiatives to successful completion using strong process management and problem resolution skills
  • Experience working with third party software providers including Cloud and Software as a Service (SaaS) service providers
  • Experience working with applications across a wide variety of locations distributed globally (e.g. 4,000+ properties)
  • General knowledge of application delivery services, including application integration, availability, quality assurance, and performance of applications.
  • Knowledge of development methodologies, solid understanding of ITIL v3 framework
  • Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, effective controls and excelling in a service provider environment
  • Domain experience relevant to supported business function; industry and competitive landscape knowledge
  • Specific functional and operational knowledge for supported applications
  • Experience in creating business presentations and communications documentation.
  • Experience in guiding and advising others.
  • Familiarity with BMC Remedy


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Providing Business Analysis Leadership

  • Identify functional gaps, regulatory needs, problems and detect trends and SLA issues
  • May participate with QA in testing for enhancements and minor defects
  • Demonstrate system to stakeholders to validate approach for enhancements
  • Provide expertise to training and field support groups as appropriate before enhancement go-live
  • Receive escalation on issues from service providers
  • Document functional requirements for enhancements
  • Address existing gaps in requirements specifications
  • Participate, review and approve root cause analysis as needed
  • Review and approve update to CBT and documentation related to enhancements and defect changes
  • Troubleshoots issues, often working with external vendors and iT.
  • Develops complex queries using PeopleSoft Query Manager to meet business needs.
  • Develops queries using SQL Tools to research and validate deliverables and enhancements


Managing Projects and Policies
  • Manages the integration and communications among applications, databases and technology platforms.
  • Administers company technology practices, standards and procedures.
  • Manages an inventory of technology related assets, including hardware, software, application systems, databases, licenses, products.
  • Makes decisions based on documented business opportunities, benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications.
  • Manages a portfolio of developments with implication to cost reduction initiatives.
  • Analyzes a variety of work processes and associated document and information flow for strategic recommendation to leadership.
  • Oversees a group that defines and implements new or enhanced applications into a production environment.
  • Manages supplier relationship with software integrator.
