Role Description:
We are seeking an analytical thinker to join our dynamic high-impact Strategy & Operations team that delivers strategic and operational analysis to our Market Readiness leadership team. This Strategy & Operations internship is a hybrid of traditional jobs in strategic planning, consulting, finance, and analysis - featuring a blend of business analysis, strategic planning, performance optimization, and business operational support.
This intern will work closely with a team to evaluate business performance, build analytical models, and craft concise, data-driven recommendations for our leadership team. Deliverables include creating analytic models and performance analysis, scalable reporting infrastructure, and packaging findings into a presentation for Salesforce leadership. The successful candidate will also be someone who can balance operational with strategic thinking, is relentlessly curious and can work independently and in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team to ensure strategic decisions are supported through data and analysis
Design, build, and implement analytic infrastructure to track progress and identify areas of improvement
Prepare analysis and present recommendations to senior management for strategic decision making and investment
Explain results and what factors drove the results in a report
Conduct ad hoc queries and analysis as needed
Required Skills/Experience:
Current student pursuing a BA/BS or MS degree with concentration in Business, Economics, Finance, MIS, Statistics, Math, or a related field
Adept at integrating disparate information, correlating data, and understanding data trends
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop solutions, and craft high quality executive presentations
Strong Microsoft Office skills, proficiency in Excel
Knowledge of relevant data analysis and reporting software packages (SPSS, R, or any other data analysis package)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, as well as the business and technical community
Desired Skills:
Past experience focused on quantitative analysis, Excel and logical reasoning; experience using databases for analysis
Experience with the Salesforce CRM reporting and analytics
A team player with high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
Ability to work independently under general direction
PowerPoint presentation building skills
Work experience in consulting, finance, or data analytics is a plus
A passion for cloud computing and the social enterprise
