Home Instead Senior Care is seeking a Receptionist to work in our Skokie, IL office to help fulfill our mission to enhance the lives of aging adults and their families.

The Receptionist will be expected to perform a variety of duties which support the operations of the company. The ideal candidate will represent the company in a professional manner and help the company to carry out the best possible client and CAREgiver experience.

Job Summary
Provides general support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks.  The Receptionist will be responsible for incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate personnel, mail distribution, flow of correspondence, supply ordering as well as additional clerical duties.

Core Responsibilities

  • Answer each call in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner and field appropriately as quickly as possible.  Use Instant Messaging system to communicate quickly to staff in the office.  Take messages when necessary.
  • Ask appropriate questions of inquiry callers to assess territory and pass it on to the proper office or Inquiry Specialist immediately.
  • Buzz visitors in to the building.
  • Greet and welcome each visitor in a friendly, warm and professional manner.
  • Prepares office mailings and maintain postage machine.
  • Prepares and sends out CAREGiver and Client correspondence.
  • Assists in planning and executing CAREGiver meetings.
  • Assists in putting together marketing and new hire materials.
  • Uses computer programs such as ClearCare, MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
  • Maintains paperwork in office including filing.
  • Inventories, orders and distributes office supplies.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  This position will report to the Recruitment & Human Resources Director.

FLSA Status
Non-Exempt, $13-$15 per hour

Work Hours
8:30am - 5pm; Monday-Friday.  Flexibility to weekend work for special events.

Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Two years of related receptionist experience

Work Authorization
Authorized to work in the United States
E-Verify and I9 employer

Physical Demands
Ability to sit at a desk and listen effectively for long periods of time on the telephone.
Ability to stand and walk during the course of a normal business day.
Ability to reach with hands and arms to operate office equipment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs.
