Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a Chef Manager for a 180-resident skilled care/rehab facility with specialized dementia care located in North Hills area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Meal service includes dining room and traditional tray service with an emphasis on high quality perperation of a varied menu consistent with diet standards of the clientele.
The ideal candidate would have a culinary background as well as experience in a Health Care setting with modified diets and textures. The chosen candidate must be enthusiastic about providing the highest quality of meals to our residents and be a great team player and leader. The successful candidate will have experience in food production and service, food and kitchen safety, sanitation for regulatory compliance, inventory management, on-line ordering, catering, employee training, hiring, schedules, payroll. Strong skills in client relations are critical for success in this position. This position will oversee production staff of 8-10 employees and will cook two days a week. Schedule will vary based on the needs at the location; however, typical shift will be 10:00am - 6:30pm with every other weekend.

Position Summary
Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Executive Chef or Food Production Manager. Reports to General Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
