Retail Fitting Room, Part Time: Troy, MI, Macy's Somerset Collection - Part-time

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Fitting Room Checker is responsible for all functions related to the up keep of the fitting room as well as the appearance of the store. Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist customers in all aspects of service fulfillment by demonstrating proficient use of proprietary devices and applications; proactively create enhanced shopping experiences through the heightened use of tools, technology and collaboration
• Greet customers and escort them with their selection to the next available fitting room
• Offer to retrieve additional sizes, styles, and accessories; offer to remove unwanted merchandise from the fitting room
• Build onto sales by suggesting additional merchandise to complete outfits and meet customer needs
• Contact Security or Management when suspicious of criminal activity Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

QUALIFICATIONS:
Communication Skills:
Effective written and verbal skills, ability to interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with peers and customers.

Reasoning Ability:
Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team and must have good time management skills.

Physical Demands:
This position involves constant moving and standing. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours. Involves lifting at least 30 lbs. May occasionally involve reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Other skills:
Ability to collaborate and function as a member of a team. Must possess a strong sense of urgency.

Work Hours:
Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours, which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
