Key Responsibilities
  • The duties of the Collections Specialist include collection calls and correspondence in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Providing customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments.
  • Monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts- Customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write off, customer reconciliations and processing credit memos.
  • Recommending credit terms and monitoring customer credit limits.
  • Accountable for reducing days sales outstanding (DSO) for assigned accounts.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounting Department.
  • Enlist the efforts of sales and support teams when necessary to accelerate the collection process.
  • Must communicate and follow up effectively with sales and support departments regarding customer accounts on a timely basis.
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers, sales.


Essential Functions
  • Weekly and monthly reporting to supervisor
  • Monthly delinquency notices
  • Processing credit memos and the appropriate reporting
  • High volume of electronic and telephone communications to assigned delinquent customers
  • Resolve customer issues as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due
  • Provide excellent and considerate customer service to customers, sales and support teams
  • Participate in team planning meetings
  • Meet defined department goals and activity metrics


Required Skills
  • Completed 2+ years of college coursework in business, finance, or accounting related field
  • 4+ years corporate collections experience
  • Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures
  • Accounts Receivable and cash cycle knowledge/experience a plus
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
  • Commitment to excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
