In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing efficient and effective operations and performance of clinical practices including ambulatory primary care and urgent care practices. 


This includes identifying and resolving operational and organizational issues impacting clinical operations and processes to support the highest quality patient care.

Responsibilities of the Practice Manager:



  • Overall practice management and administration of assigned clinic(s) and supervision of clinical staff to ensure efficient and responsive patient workflow

  • Implement operating policies and procedures, quality assurance plans, and work standards according to OMPs mission, vision, goals, and objectives

  • Provide direct supervision of staff, ensuring high quality patient care. Hold staff accountable to established policies and procedures consistently ensuring a patient centric culture. Serve as key problem-solving resource for staff on operational issues

  • Compile and analyze data on patient care experience, quality, performance, productivity, and prepare reports for administration

  • Accountable for clinic performance (e.g., quality control, regulatory standards, financial, patient satisfaction/experience, scheduling/staffing, budgeting, and billing)

  • In partnership with senior leadership team and IT, implement the OMP technology integration strategy to include implementation of EHR, practice management systems, and training support

  • Ensure effective communication with key external customers including referring practices, hospitals, payers, and community providers

  • Identify opportunities and implement practice initiatives that improve the patient experience

  • Maintain compliance with established governmental regulations, health care industry requirements/standards, policies and procedures, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation agencies

  • Oversee clinic and medical supply inventory; ensure timely processing and follow-up on all clinic correspondence

  • Collect metrics to include provider productivity, admits/K, hospitalization rate and patient visits to assess clinic, and staff performance/productivity

  • Coordinate and monitor the corrective action process, as needed, to ensure quality service is provided

  • Manage according to clinics annual budget, to achieve budgeted goals/metrics

  • Actively participate in planning and administration of clinic budget as assigned. Provide detailed projections and reports as required for development and management of budget

Requirements


Required Qualifications:



  • Associates degree

  • Minimum 2 or more years' experience in medical practice management; preferably in a multi-site organization.

  • 2 or more years managerial/supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proven experience with developing positive relationships with Physicians, senior staff, co-workers and customers.

  • A self-starter with high energy who is motivated and able to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision and lead by example.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with physicians and staff alike

  • Strong mentoring and team-building skills along with the ability to gain trust and confidence from others.

  • Able to develop and define resources needed to accomplish tactical goals.  Strong working knowledge of regulatory agency requirements including OSHA and CMS

  • Ability to motivate and direct actions of others.

  • Track record of resolving complex problems with creative solutions.

  • Must hold and maintain a current/valid California Driver's License


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree

  • Managed Care work experience

  • Applicable knowledge of practice finance including billing, collections, and cash flow projection and management.

  • Master's degree in a related field

  • Experience using NextGen EMR
