Job Type: Full Time Position Summary:

This position is responsible for accurately reading, interpreting and entering prescriptions into the computer system in a timely fashion. Technicians are responsible for routing questionable prescriptions to the pharmacist for completion. Responsible for making outbound calls / faxing the physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions and formulary changes. Must be able to resolve and enter incomplete prescriptions after clarification is obtained. Operate keyboard and computer screen to enter patient and prescription information. May perform other pharmacy functions as required, such as production and shipping of orders and other projects as they arise. Required Qualifications:

Must be adept at reading / interpreting prescription terminology and medications. Excellent customer service skills, primarily over the phone. Must have rapid keyboarding skills while maintaining 100% accuracy. Must be able to meet specified production and quality standards as defined by the management team. Must also be able to recognize and identify commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration of these drugs. Must have the ability to understand and interpret Latin symbols commonly used on prescription medications and the ability to write routine correspondence. Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. This includes the ability to calculate dosages and days supply of prescriptions. Must be flexible and enjoy working in a fast paced, team oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications:

Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred, especially in specialty pharmacy. National certification preferred. Education:
