It is a great time to join CVS Caremark and one of our 18 Distribution Centers across the country as we continue to grow. We are looking for a talented and experienced Operations Manager seeking the career growth that CVS Caremark can offer. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a distribution center (DC) of anywhere from 78,000 to 1.2 million square feet. The DC may consist of multiple buildings and shifts, 200 to 1000 employees, and can include pharmacy and dotcom items. The Operations Manager innovates, plans, organizes, directs, controls, and manages the daily activities of assigned functional areas within the distribution center.

CVS Caremark has invested in technology to create a state of the art warehouse management system, as well as voice and pick to light systems. A high performing Manager will travel to other DC’s to teach best practices as well as learn how other DC’s operate. The ideal Manager will be Six Sigma certified as a greenbelt, but no worries if you have not obtained it yet, CVS Caremark will invest in your certification. The Manager has the potential to experience tremendous growth in managing larger DC’s and eventually becoming a Director. One of the keys to this career growth is having the ability to relocate to different CVS Caremark DC’s across the country.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plan, organize, schedule, forecast, and coordinate work in order to meet production schedules and operational goals.

- Review/analyze production, quality, and other operational reports, initiating changes, as needed, to ensure a high level of service to store operations.

- Develop and implement plans, procedures, programs, and strategies to enhance performance, service level, and cost-per-piece.

- Prepare departmental budget and control expenditures against approved budget.

- Administer policies/procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Professionally address issues with employees utilizing the proper resources.

- Develop a supervisory staff with an emphasis on teambuilding, communication, performance accountability, and positive employee relations management.

- Ensure maximum utilization of manpower and equipment.

- Promote and reinforce safety and security awareness and compliance among the supervisory staff and hourly employee groups.

- Perform other related duties as assigned by Director.

Required Qualifications - Ability to relocate to any CVS Caremark Distribution Center location in the U.S. based on needs of the business and for long-term career growth opportunities

- 5+ years of prior management experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment

- Demonstrated leadership abilities in managing teams

- Experience analyzing data and information effectively and consistently to develop new strategies

- Innovative thinker with creative solutions to increase efficiencies, processes, reporting, etc.

- Ability to communicate cross functionally and with all levels of employees

- Microsoft Office experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Experience and knowledge with compliance (i.e. FDA, OSHA, DEA)

- Strong experience with 3rd party vendors, multiple vendors and outsourcing

- Ability to make good decisions around transportation

- Travel as needed to other DC’s

Preferred Qualifications Six Sigma certification is preferred

- Bilingual would be a plus

- Microsoft Access experience is a plus
