Technical Advisor (Pharmacy Advisor ACE) - Full-time / Part-time

Coordinate the technical aspects of the Pharmacy Advisor ACE Health Management operations of Caremark and all critical functions for the Pharmacy Advisor ACE applications and processes. Champion SDLC methods and best practices on the team to ensure that quality standards are met. Responsible for helping to oversee the development and implementation of technical solutions as assigned; ensuring and adhering to all established methodologies; and standards and guidelines, including but not limited to: analysis and design documents, program specifications, test plans and results, design, code, testing, debugging, and documentation of those programs while delivering assignments within specified time frames. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) as it applies to the applications within Pharmacy Advisor ACE, including the technology as well as the business processes supported by the applications. Responsible for collaborating with others, leading high level design on medium to high complexity projects and reviewing detailed design of analysts and senior analysts on the team to deliver projects to completion and to user satisfaction. Formulate and define system scope and objectives to meet project deliverables, ensuring that established timelines and cost estimates are maintained. Provide ongoing production support and maintenance of information systems as assigned, which may include rotational 24/7 on-call support or code implementation efforts. Analyze and correct system issues in response to user inquiries, problems, and investigatory requests. Effectively present information and respond to questions either one-on-one or to groups, including formal presentations and regular status reports to management and business partners. Share technical and business guidance with other team members, IT groups and business partners. Will instruct, direct, and review the work of other staff assigned to the project. Identify areas for improvement, present recommendations, and champion changes. Effectively communicate and collaborate with IT leadership and business partners to deliver technically sound and cost-effective solutions. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results. Responsible for internal quality assurance review, post-implementation support, and system enhancements. Facilitate meetings with both technical and business audiences, often across multiple functional departments.

Required Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, IT, or closely related technical field and six years of experience in programming and application development, Java, Unix Shell Scripting, SQL, DB2/UDB, and Rational Application Developer required. The six years of required experience must include four years of experience with Hibernate and a Java-based development framework such as Struts or Spring. 0-5% domestic travel required.
