About this job

This position is responsible for taking inbound calls from and placing outbound calls to patients, physicians and/or payers to obtain refill orders and information regarding changes in benefits and/or insurance. The position works in a comfortable office environment and requires entering accurate information into a multi-screen computer application. Additional duties include assisting pharmacy services staff members with answering phones, triaging calls, filing and other administrative support activities. The position works on a recorded, monitored phone system which requires employees to be logged in and available to service members during scheduled work hours. Comprehensive training, including training on computer applications, workflows/processes and basic drug therapy information is provided.

Required Qualifications This position interacts with members who may have serious, chronic conditions, as well as physician practices, insurance carriers, health plans, and pharmacy operations teams. The role requires the ability to communicate clearly, work in team environment and document information on a multi-screen computer application with extreme attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to use basic computer applications and typing skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications One year of experience in a healthcare related field is strongly preferred. Previous telephone customer service and pharmacy experience preferred. 1-2 years Pharmacy Technician experience and Kansas technician registration and/or National Technician Certification is preferred.

Education Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
