An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Maintenance Planner at Honeywell's Specialty Materials manufacturing facility located in Metropolis, IL. The Metropolis Works manufactures a number of fluorine products including uranium hexafluoride (UF6) for nuclear fuel, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) for electric utilities. About 80 percent of the plant's work involves refining raw uranium ore into UF6. Metropolis is located at the southern tip of the state of Illinois on the Ohio River across from Paducah, Kentucky.
Responsibilities:
Identifies maintenance work and enters notifications in SAP, as required
Reviews all approved Priority 2, 3, and 4 notifications in SAP
Performs a quick job scope for all Priority 2 notifications prior to creating a work order
Performs a detailed job scope for all Priority 3, and 4 notifications prior to creating a work order
Performs a first cost estimate for all approved Priority 2, 3, and 4 notifications in SAP
Creates work orders from notifications in a maximum of three working days
Develops accurate job plans for repetitive routine repair maintenance work and preventive maintenance work
Plans Priority 2, 3, and 4 work orders
Procures necessary tools, materials, and outside services required for all maintenance work
Issues purchase requisitions, as necessary
Schedules per SAP capacity leveling all maintenance work in coordination with operational needs and material availability
Utilizes the T-7 scheduling methodology in coordination with input from operations to develop a seven-week look ahead schedule
Manages the existing backlog of maintenance work and prioritizes the backlog appropriately
Kits backlog maintenance work for utilization as fill-in work
Reviews outstanding work order lists in SAP
Communicates with operations and maintenance to ensure that work order priorities are accurate
Participates in daily update meeting to ensure communication with the Operations Coordinator on daily maintenance activities, the next day's activities, and the status of any new Priority 1 and 2 notifications
Participates in weekly backlog/scheduling meeting to prioritize the seven week backlog of maintenance work based on operational needs and to set the next week's schedule
Walks down all maintenance work orders two weeks prior to execution with the Operations Coordinator and Maintenance Foreman to ensure that all parts, shared services, and safety issues have been addressed prior to scheduling the work
Participates in weekly Sub-Team meetings
Tracks schedule efficiency, schedule attainment, and schedule loading through the utilization of the schedule compliance report in SAP
Tracks current backlog of maintenance work, backlog of planned maintenance work, and backlog of turnaround work
Tracks number of job plans developed per the total year's goal for job plans
Technically completes work orders in SAP within three working days of field completion
Records all pertinent historical/corrective action information from the shop papers in SAP
Updates job plans as required per craftsman feedback on shop papers
Performs shop paper audits on completed shop papers and job history forms
Ensuring compliance with Honeywell Corporate and MTW policies
Maintains housekeeping in assigned area
Basic Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED
2-5 years chemical plant experience
3-5 years of planning and scheduling experience
Additional Qualifications :
B.S. Degree is a plus
Supervisory or maintenance planning experience preferred
Previous logistics experience is a plus
SAP knowledge a plus
Green Belt certification a plus
Welding experience a plus
Reliability experience a plus
Ability to read and understand mechanical and process drawings
